Linda Bartlett

Executive Director

Linda’s work experiences include business, government and the not-for-profit sector. She joined NEIA in the fall of 2009, having worked in resource sector development in Newfoundland and Labrador for more than 20 years. From 2004 to 2008 she was Chair of the Board of Directors of Vancouver-based Mountain Equipment Co-op (MEC), Canada's largest consumer co-operative and leading outdoor retailer. Under her leadership the board was named the recipient of the Conference Board of Canada/Spencer Stuart 2008 Award of Excellence for Governance Innovation in Canada, for its work in using the environment to inform business strategy. In 2002 she received the Government of Newfoundland and Labrador's, Public Service Award of Excellence.

Linda has an affinity for both the land and the sea. Although she graduated, as an Agriculturalist, from McGill University, the first woman in the province to do so, water has been her passion. She has kayaked much of the province’s coastline, canoed many of its wilderness rivers and through much exploration has come to appreciate its unique natural environment.

Kieran Hanley

Marketing & Communications Coordinator

Kieran joined the NEIA team in January of 2012. Kieran has a wealth of experience in the marketing and communications field, having worked with organizations large and small throughout Canada. He gained extensive communications experience working in Ottawa as the Legislative Assistant to a Member of Parliament, which he followed up by heading a small marketing business in St. John’s. Kieran’s expertise in digital design, web development, and social media - in combination with his creative instincts - will serve him well with NEIA.

Kieran, a graduate from Dalhousie University’s business school, has developed a keen interest in environmental-economic issues. He is as comfortable in the middle of a large city as he is alone in the great outdoors.
