Christmas Party, December 20, 2006

NEIA's annual Christmas party was held Wednesday December 20th at the Crow's Nest. About 75 NEIA members joined us for food, refreshments, door prizes, music and lots of season's greetings and good cheer.

Energy & Environment 2006 Recap, November 16, 2006

NEIA recently played host to a group of U.S. disaster response and emergency management professionals – among them, individuals who were first responders following last year’s Hurricane Katrina and those contracted to lead efforts to rebuild the communities of the central Gulf Coast devastated by the storm.

Financing Solutions for Foreign Markets, November 9, 2006

NEIA, EDC and Scotia Bank hosted a breakfast session on financing for foreign markets. They covered topics including how to ensure you get paid, how to use financing as a competitive advantage and how to avoid some of the common financing pitfalls.


Lunch & Learn with Michael Young, July 18, 2006

Michael Young, of the World Trade Centre Atlantic Canada, spoke to members about the services provided by the WTCAC, as well as upcoming export initiatives that might be of interest to companies in Newfoundland and Labrador. Following his presentation, there was a roundtable discussion.


Luncheon with Rod Greenwood, June 15, 2006

Dr. Rob Greenwood, the Director of the Harris Centre, outlined what the Centre does, provided examples of projects conducted, and identified possible alliance arrangements with NEIA and/or members.

Dr. Greenwood also reviewed how activities conducted through the Harris Centre does not take work from private companies.


Lets Talk Exports Luncheon, May 10, 2006

Mr. Poloz offered an in-depth analysis of the world economy by sector and by country, drawing out the implications for Canada's economy, exports, interest rates and the dollar. Attendees took away a clear understanding of the risks and opportunities for their business in 2006-2007.


Oil Spill Follow-up Breakfast Session - January 16, 2006

Mr. Richard Day, Director of Operations and Environmental Programs Transport Canada provided NEIA members with additional and new information to the sessions at the oil spill conference held in November 2005.
