Events and Happenings  May has been busy at NEIA! 

 Peter Hall Speaks at Luncheon 

On Tuesday, May 24th, 2011, NEIA and Export Development Canada (EDC) hosted the annual Let's Talk Exports luncheon, featuring Senior Economist Peter Hall.

 

Attendees at Peter Hall LuncheonPeter Hall gave an enlightening talk on the global economy to a packed house at the Sheraton Hotel Newfoundland. Each attendee received a copy of the Global Export Forecast - Summary; Spring 2011 edition in hard copy and a copy of the presentation. 

 

Gilbert BennetOn Friday, May 6th, NEIA presented a luncheon featuring Gilbert Bennett. The event was well attended and held at the Capital Hotel. After just finishing the public hearings for the proposed Lower Churchill Hydroelectric Generation Project, he talked about the project and potential business opportunities for Newfoundland and Labrador.

United States Market Information Session

The Department of Innovation, Trade and Rural Development is partnering with Atlantic Canada Opportunities Agency and the Department of Foreign Affairs and International Trade (DFAIT) to deliver a United States Market Information Session on Thursday, June 2 at Bally Haly Golf and Curling Club in St. John's.

 

The session will feature market overview presentations from representatives from the Consulate General of Canada in Chicago and Consulate General of Canada in Miami. A full day is being planned with presentations, one-on-one meetings, nutrition breaks and lunch.
