of Newfoundland (MUN) - Environmental Science Programme Mr. Joe Wroblewski The Environmental Science Program is an interdisciplinary graduate program involving the science-based departments of Memorial University of Newfoundland. Both the Environmental Engineering Program and the Environmental Science Program make up Memorial's Environmental Studies Graduate Program. There are two Environmental Science Graduate degree streams: the Master of Science (M.Sc., Environmental Science) and the Master of Environmental Science (M.Env.Sci). Both are available on either a full-time or a part-time basis. M.Sc. students are required to successfully complete five courses including two integrated courses (for example Environmental Science and Technology, Earth and Ocean Systems, Environmental Chemistry and Toxicology and Applied Ecology); two courses in the student's area of specialization, and a seminar course. In addition, an interdisciplinary environmental thesis that meets the normal requirements of the School of Graduate Studies is required. M.Env.Sci. students are required to successfully complete: three of the integrated courses; the seminar course; four courses on specific aspects of environmental science or engineering, and complete a one-semester long environmental project culminating in a scientific report. Thesis research and projects are often carried out in collaboration with industry or government .
