Stewardship Board MMSB was established as a crown agency of the Provincial Department of Environment in support of government's objectives for the development, implementation, and management of new waste diversion strategies. The Board is comprised of representatives of industry, government and appropriate stakeholders, who collectively identify, develop and promote new strategies for waste diversion and management within the Province. Some of the waste diversion programs managed by MMSB are recycling programs for beverage containers, used tire oil, and household hazardous waste collection. MMSB also administers the Newfoundland and Labrador Waste Management Trust Fund and provides public education material on waste management issues in the province. |
